Entertainment around the complex

Pic1

The apartments are 2 minutes walk from bars and restaurants all with their own appeal, from steak to Chinese, traditional Spanish to mouthwatering Italian, cheerful cafes to a la carte cuisine.  There is live entertainment with cabarets and comedians or quiet dining with attentive waiters.

In Los Gigantes the evening cannot be better spent than by the marina watching the boats and drinking fine wine and trying the local seafood.

The area is particularly rich in local entertainment with many open air fiestas in Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago and La Arena where joining in with the locals is an experience not to be missed

Local Attractions in Los Gigantes

The three resorts of Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago and La Arena are all known by the generic name of “Los Gigantes”, the nearest offices of the Tenerife Tourist Board are actually in the Playa la Arena district of the resort.

Although the generic name by which all of these three resorts are by is Los Gigantes, the nearest offices of the Tenerife Tourist Board are actually a couple of kilometres to the south of Los Gigantes, in the Playa la Arena district of the resort. These offices have in the past always proved to be a very useful contact point for information about upcoming events and activities in the area, and the depth of knowledge of their staff never ceases to impress. Contact details are:

Although not quite in the same league as the annual Santa Cruz carnival which is known to rival the spectacular event held in Rio de Janeiro each year, the residents of Los Gigantes are no less proud of their own 5 day celebration that is held during the week following Ash Wednesday.

The harbour at Los Gigantes is also the departure point for numerous boat trips out to see the dolphin and whale colonies which live between the west coast of Tenerife and the neighbouring island of La Gomera. These trips offer superb value for money compared to those offered by the large tour operators, and you will be almost guaranteed a free child place along with the offer of a free trip next day if you don't see anything. The full details of the range of trips and services available at Los Gigantes Marina can also be found at their web site www.losgigantesmarina.com

Many operators run trips to Mount Teide, Masca and other parts of the island and all can be booked in the restaurant/shopping complex just 2 minutes walk from the apartment.

The beach in La Arena is one of the best on the island, clean, well patrolled and fringed with shaded cafes, an afternoon here with the family is well spent.  The quiet of the old fishing cove at Puerto Santiago is just 5 minutes walk and gives an entirely different aspect to a day by the beach with its quaint charm and local cafes.

Going further afield to Las Americas or Puerto de la Cruz brings in attractions such as the world famous Loro Parque, an animal park with a real difference, go-karting at Karting Tenerife, the Aqua Park, quad bike riding, downhill cycling, camel safaris, jeep safaris for the less energetic or the Sky Park.

Locally there is good scuba diving with PADI qualified instructors, parasailing and all number of watersports.
